Games seem easy January 3, 2009 Saqib Ali (http://quantumcrypto.de/dante/) This is the very first book I purchased for studying for LSAT. The Logic games, at least the ones in this book, seems relatively easy. Is Kaplan really using the games from real LSAT exams? They seem to awfully easy..... I can't believe that the real LSAT questions would be that easy. Other than that, the explanation that Kaplan provides, and the overall layout of the book is excellent. I would recommend the book to all LSAT students. The techniques and methods described in the book really help you to tackle the games.
This book will drop your score January 3, 2009 legaleagle (NH) Before I bought this book I was scoring roughly 80% on the logic games section. After this book my accuracy dropped below 50%. Their explanations do not make any sense, and there are many editing errors that make the book even worse. One example is a logic game where none of the answers were correct, and when I referenced the explanation key, I realized that the answers in the key were completely different from the test question. How could any decent editor miss this? This is only one example. I returned the book and am seeking a refund. Let's see if Kaplan will honor their guarantee.
You're Better Off With Powerscore's LGB November 22, 2008 Stephan Schwartz (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a professional LSAT tutor in NYC and the owner of an LSAT blog, I've seen students literally go from only 10 or 11 right to 20+ per section, and above, after working with me out of books like Powerscore's Logic Games Bible and Logical Reasoning Bible. The drills and the diagramming techniques that those books provide are incredibly useful. I can't recommend them highly enough. They honestly blow Kaplan's Logic Games Workbook out of the water, so I wouldn't recommend this book to any of my students.
They didn't bother to edit this... November 17, 2008 Chad Seveland I have been completely amazed at the number of editing mistakes in this workbook. And I don't mean typos - they list answers that aren't possible. For example stating the answer is m - only a through e are on any LSAT question. On page 188, the answer given doesn't match the explanation. I could give at least 5 more. At first I thought it was that I wasn't understanding but no, they didn't bother to edit it. Still, it wasn't completely useless when it had been edited. Good place to start.
Kaplan Logic Games Workbook November 5, 2008 Daniel (Pittsburgh, PA) This books is important not only for providing examples of the various types of logic games on the LSAT, but because it demonstrates the best ways to tackle them and helps improve time on what is arguably the most difficult portion of the LSAT. The LSAT taker needs to look at a logic game and not hesitate to break it down and complete it. This book will vastly improve the ability to accomplish that.
