Product Description
Best friends Jeff and Wiley are nickname addicts. It's only when a spunky red-haired environmentalist named Cassandra enters their lives that they begin to doubt their nicknaming prowess. No name seems to say it all. On top of everything, some of the nicknames that Jeff and Wiley have invented are backfiring on them. Will the nicknamers be able to get it together before it's too late?

3 out of 5 stars Frights with Friends   December 14, 2007
The Sixth Grade Nickname Game

The Sixth Grade Nickname Game is a realistic fiction book by Gordan Korman.
In this book two boys named Wiley and Jeff are best friends. They are known as the two nicknames, because almost everybody in the school has a nickname, including the teachers. Mr. Hughes, their new 6B teacher is nicknamed Mr. Huge because he's so muscular. Mr. Huge is a football coach so is often found shouting words of encouragement in class. The class overhears the principal saying that Mr. Huge was going to be fired after Christmas. The class then tries to save their beloved teacher.
One day the principal announced that a new student was to join the class, Cassandra. The boy's quickly become friends with Cassandra and try to figure out a nickname for her. This becomes difficult, but as they hang out with her, specifically for nicknaming business, they both realize that they like her a lot. Up comes the Sadie Hawkins dance, where the girls ask the boys. Both boys are determined that she will pick one of them. Then starts the fight between Wiley and Jeff over Cassandra, that might end up ruining their friendship.
I enjoyed this book, but it might be a little to young for me, maybe about fifth grade. I liked it because it had a lot of good detail and excitement, including fights between the two boys and a fight between one class and a principal that only the kids of 6B know about. This book was easy to stick to and was very funny.

5 out of 5 stars Book Review on The 6th Grade Nickname Game   January 15, 2007

Review on The 6th Grade Nick NameGame. By Gordon Korman, Mark Buehner.

This is funny and you can maybe relate this book to your self. Wiley and Jeff are the main characters and they make nick names for everyone and they have to stick or they don't fit. This new girl comes. Wiley and Jeff argue over her. Then a kid nick named snoopy gave them a challenge to pick some kid and nick name him/her what ever. If it sticks snoopy gets a new nick name.
If you like making nick names for people or have a good friendship with your friend, you are like Wiley and Jeff. Cassandra is the new girl and she is a big tomboy and she is not shy. If your like that you can connect with Cassandra. Iceman is really shy and doesn't have any friends until he gets the nick name Iceman. If your really shy sometimes you can connect with Iceman.
The school is wear a lot of the nick names are thought of. Some argues happen at the school. The house are wear Wiley and Jeff have lists of nick names. They argue more at houses then school.
Wiley and Jeff's friendship is on and off because of Cassandra. They both like her so they try to impress her. Wiley and Jeff both want to go to the dance with Cassandra that's why there getting into fights. But Iceman gets to go to the dance with Cassandra that's when they stop fighting.
Wiley and Jeff's friendship gets better after they know Iceman is going to the dance with Cassandra. Wiley and Jeff go to the dance by there selves. They have a good time without fighting. Then they go back to making nick names for everyone. So they forget about Cassandra and move on.
