good January 6, 2009 S. Memolo i got this game for my macbook and it runs ok.When i am playing it has a lag which grows with the number of players and map.to be a beginner at this game you have to like to watch your soldier die and wait for the respawn. becouce on a populated map you are an easy kill for the more experinced players with advanced sniper rifles or scar 11s. if you are going to get this game i would strongly recomend a mouse and a desktop computer.
Lots of fun !! October 12, 2008 Charles Valenzuela (Austin, TX) I don't play a lot of games and I am a new Mac user as well. This plays great on my new MacBook Pro, 2.6 GHz, 4 Gb RAM, 512 video RAM, 200 Gb 7200 rpm drive, 17 -inch glossy screen Hi-Res. Smooth video and action. No problems what so ever. I'm very pleased.
Better on PC August 2, 2008 Asa Pefferman (Seattle) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I played and loved this game on my mac, but i was using boot camp and running it on windows. When I saw it was out for osx i jumped at the chance to play it on my native operating system.I was sooo disappointed, this is a clumsy, inefficient and rough version of the game I had loved. To me this version is virtually unplayable.
EA Hates Macs June 10, 2008 William M. Workman (Dallas, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this game, but playing it on a Mac is nothing but frustration. You'll pay twice as much for the game up front. Then you'll experience the wonderfully chaotic cider emulation. No matter how fast your Mac, you'll get laggy performance and lots of crashes. Assuming you keep playing, you'll be disappointed to find EA never bothered to port the Northern Strike booster pack, so your choices of servers is limited (and this is a server-only game. No real single-player mode). Even better, when EA releases an incremental patch (to introduce new maps, new weapons and fix bugs), Mac owners get the patch about a month later than everyone else. I am currently waiting for the 1.50 patch. In the meantime, every server in the known world has upgraded to 1.50. In other words, I am unable to play the game. Furthermore, EA refuses to comment on when they'll get around to patching the Mac version. Avoid this game. Buy the PC version if you must, but I suggest avoiding EA altogether. They have proven themselves to be unabashedly anti-consumer and happy to rest on their pile of Madden cash.
good quality fps May 26, 2008 Emerald Furnari 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is great. A solid storyline but,I wish the two armies had different weapons.I enjoyed playing it and it does not take as long as the other Battlefield games to set up. The combat and battles is great but I wish you could unlock things sooner . The AI is drilling you with grenades and advanced weapons when you do not even have a frag. In the mean time I just pickup the weapons of the dead guys who got unlocks . Have happy headshots!
