Product Description Celebrate and commemorate ten years of Tomb Raider and Lara Croft with Tomb Raider: Anniversary, a new action adventure inspired by the original Tomb Raider video game, one of the greatest action adventure games of all time. Relive the original Tomb Raider enhanced with the latest technology. Lara Croft's latest action adventure uncovers lost worlds, retrieve ancient artifacts and unlock the secrets of the past.
To celebrate and commemorate Tomb Raider and Lara's Anniversary the developers went back to where it all began, taking inspiration from the original game to create a new Tomb Raider gameplay experience. Everything about Tomb Raider: Anniversary is new. The ability to render thousands of polys with multiple semitransparent textures has given the game a huge graphical overhaul, but it's much, much more than that. Lara's movements have developed dramatically since the original; she has her latest fluid movement set, plus new Adrenalin combat modes, the ability to perch and her grapple. Enjoy new physics - which the first game couldn't do, creating all kinds of new possibilities for mind-bending puzzles. The adventure begins when Lara is hired by a powerful syndicate to retrieve a mythical object called the Scion. As Lara searches ancient tombs and isolated worlds that have lain undisturbed for thousands of years, she discovers that she is not alone. Not only has she awoken their fearsome guardians but there are others desperate to learn the Scion's dark secrets. Minimum Requirements DVD Drive Keyboard & Mouse Recommended Requirements 2.0GHz Processor 1GB RAM - 128MB VRAM Mac OS 10.5 4GB Hard Disk Space DVD Drive Game Pad

Tomb Raiders Anniv. December 28, 2008 Anita L. Reid (georgia United States) Could not load it to my MAC. According to the BOX I could play it on my MAC. After loading it found out that the box was wrong. Yes I have the right Recommended System HOWEVER the GHz is 1.8 and my machine is maxed at 1.5. So will have to wait until I get a new computer to play it. So cannot comment on playing it until then. Thank you
Tomb Raider Anniversary for IMac Computer December 24, 2008 Indiomike I have a IMac 20" with standard features including the Leopard 10.5.5 OS, a 2.66 GHz Intel Duo Core 2 processor, 2 GB of Ram, and a ATI HD 2600 Pro graphics card. This seems sufficient to run the game okay. Every so often, you will find the screen will freeze as the computer takes more data from the game disc. It's a slight annoyance but nothing major. By the way, the game disc must remain in the computer for the game to be played. Also be sure you purchase the game that is compatible for MAC computers as the others won't work. I have not completed the game but am pleased with the playability and graphics so far. It runs pretty smooth for the most part. With about 8 hours of play into the game, it has froze up twice, requiring the computer to be turned off and restarted. When that happens, the game resumes at the last check point you have reached. Fortunately you don't have to start from the very beginning of the game. I am not a kid and have not played any of the Lara Croft Tomb Raider games before. I found it very beneficial to play the Lara Croft Manor section first before choosing the regular game. Playing the Manor section first teaches you how to use the various moves you will come across when playing the main game. The Manor section is actually quite challenging in itself. There is no way I could complete this game without some walkthrough help. When I get to a point and can't figure out how to proceed, I simply quit the game. It will auto save at various points or you can manually save the game at any time you wish. Then go onto the Internet and Google Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary Walkthrough. You can choose from any number of walkthroughs that are available. They will explain what to do to complete each level. Then go back to the game and proceed. I am not a heavy gamer. I bought this game because it had a very good rating from other players. I have found a lot of good entertainment for the money spent on this game. Besides all the running, jumping, swimming, shooting, etc, there are puzzles to solve and hidden items to find. Good fun all around.
TR Anniversary - 4.5 stars / 5.5 stars - read on as to why... October 26, 2008 Robert Mullins (Illinois) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am still playing TR-Anniversary, so here's my thoughts at this point. The graphics are absolutely amazing. I have played every single TR for Mac since the first and it's hard to believe how detailed they are from what they once were (at the time, I used to think they were amazing then, but now, WOW). ~ I can't wait till the next TR becomes available for Mac! ~ For those who have played TR before, the plot will be familiar. The storyline may also be familiar. I have two main criticisms... I highly recommend playing the Manor first... Get used to the new controls (which are customisable as before), but more importantly, get used to Lara's movements. I find her movements frustrating to get used to, such as her direction of movement in-conjunction with the direction in which she faces. It's progress though and takes some getting used too. Lara is much faster moving than previously where you could be more precise with her movements, such as jumps and walking (note: in Walk mode she will now fall off cliffs, so be careful). I really miss the Look mode as I enjoyed investigating. I will also add, her foes are also faster moving, but having said that she seems to run & swim slower and doesn't jump as high as before, which actually makes her appear to be more real. Having said that, interactions with her surroundings are again, WOW. For example, when Lara moves objects, they move in 3D, as in reality and don't follow a grid-like pattern. Picking up objects is easy (I remember a previous game where it was a bit of a precise issue). Lara has some really awesome movements which she has either, never had before or are so vastly improved. I give TR Anniversary 5 stars because 4.5 stars is not available. I am deducting .5 of a star for adjusting to her new movements as noted above and I give 5.5 stars to the graphics, the detail, her interactions with her surroundings, her new moves and everything else. I'll say it again, I can't wait for the next TR for Mac !!!
great game controls not so good. October 24, 2008 John Zelewsky (Chicago) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really enjoy this game. Have had no issues running it on my macbook pro. The only drawback is the controls. I am playing this with a game pad. I thought that the controls would be similar to other versions of TR I have played. It makes it challenging and frustrating at times.
