GET ANY OTHER CONTROLLER January 4, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I JUST READ SOMEONE WHO'S JOYSTICK BROKE IN ABOUT 2 MONTHS, WELL I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING. IT DOESN'T SEND THE MESSAGE TO THE DREAMCAST TO GO UP OR DOWN JUST SIDE TO SIDE. IF YOU WANT TO PAY $20 FOR A TWO-MONTH CONTROLLER, GO RIGHT AHEAD. ALSO NOBODY WILL REPLACE IT BECAUSE IT IS OVER A MONTH OLD. IT'S A SCAM. FOR THE TWO MONTHS I HAD IT, I DID LIKE THE AUTO-FIRE
Atstro is not as good as Sega! December 3, 2000 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I actually purchased this item a couple month ago but when i can across it i had to write this review. My joystick on my controller broke after about two months of use. It it also too large for a childs hands which makes it difficult to control. Whenever I play any game with one of my friends they declare that the game was unfair because they got the bad controller. I just dont want another kid opening this for christmas!
Adult sized, great customer service! November 6, 2000 Wessir (Las Vegas, NV USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is the best controller for the Sega Dreamcast. I played with the Sega controller for a while but couldn't get control of the finger slide triggers because I had to grip the controller with the end part of my fingers. The Astropad is much bigger so you can hold it with your palms and leave your fingers free for the buttons and slide triggers. If you already have the Sega you know how small the grips are on the standard controller. I had to return one when it stopped working and they sent me a replacement in 3 days! Great service! I highly recommend this controller for anyone with adult size hands.
Better than SEGA's July 12, 2000 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought that this controller was way more comfortable than the standard SEGA controller, but it could still use some improvement. It will put less strain on your wrists after extended times of use, also unlike SEGA and MadCatz, the anolog triggers are wider and more supportive to the index finger. Keep in mind this seems to be the biggest and the bulkiest controller out there, that was the only problem I had with it. The Astropad is a definate good buy.
Feels different/Plays the same January 22, 2000 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
I could tell this unit was not Sega's by the slight difference in feel. It registers well with the Dreamcast console and I even felt better about it when I pulled it out by accident during play and the Dreamcast immediatly went to a red screen and informed me that the controller was out of socket. This controler does the same job and is great for when company comes over. If they don't own a Dreamcast they won't know any differents anyway. I bought the red and green and the added color is a plus to game play. Of course it's going to feel a little different if you've been playing with Sega's controllor. They can't make an exact copy. They'ed be sued.
