Exactly what it says - ADD ON! June 27, 2008 J. Franklin (Portland, Oregon United States) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
The game is not an Expansion, it is an "ADD ON". No new stuff for the other two versions. Its a tough fight and well done. I can understand why some would expect more. It could have had more in it. The prices on Amazon are way to high (sorry guys) Try eBay, I got mine for $10 plus shipping.
Fun...but I would save my money May 6, 2008 Andrew Snow (Utah) 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have been very impressed with the Total War series thus far. I was so excitted to buy all the expansion packs to Rome:Total War because I was so taken back by the graphics and the overall game play. I subsequently went out and bought the expansion Alexander. I was not hugely impressed with the game. The Persians seemed a little easy to defeat and the legendary Immortals were easy to kill, probably why the Macedonians conquered the Persians. If you are a fan of the series, go with the Barbarian Invasion or invest in one of the other Total War games.
Very Total War Like, not impressive but fun for campaign fans April 18, 2008 Adrian Segura (San jose, Costa Rica) 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
I purchased the Alexander Expansion first online which had turned into a nightmare situation due to installation issues. WARNING: don't buy the trymedia copy, you WILL have installation problems. Anyhoo, This Game is very much for me, I am not one of those Historical Battle fanatics, I like to create my own history within my campaign games, and thus, I found the new complexity of factions interesting as well as the unit variety colourful. I recommend to all Total War Round Campaing players
No worth the money April 18, 2008 VIRGINIA CHANG (BROOKLYN, NY USA) 1 out of 16 found this review helpful
I HAVE ALL OF THE TOTAL WAR GAMES AND HAD RECENTLY PURCHASE THE ALEXANDER EXPANSION. I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE MORE HISTORIAL BATTLES SET IN THE GAME. FOR THE MONEY I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT SHOGUN TOTAL WAR, MAY BE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE INTERESTING.
